2019 BBC Past Events
Here are some of the BBC and non-BBC events, that took place in 2019 that various BBC members enjoyed.
The Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) 2019:
The 22st annual GBBC will be held Friday, February 15, through Monday, February 18, 2019.
Winter Eagle Surveys 2019:
Two of the BBC affiliates, The Bibbee Nature Club (BNC) and The Mountwood Bird Club (MBC) are conducting Winter Eagle Surveys in January and March.
Brooks Bird Club Early Spring Meeting 2019:
The BBC Early Spring Meeting will be March 8th ~ 10th
We will be based at North Bend State Park again this year.
Speakers for the weekend will be, Cullen Hanks from the Cornell Lab, plus naturalist and photographer Jim McCormac!

BBC Seneca Lake Outing 2019:
The BBC Seneca Lake outing will be Saturday March 16th.
Meet at the fish hatchery at 10:00am. We will be going around the lake in search of early waterfowl. Pack a lunch and join in this annual BBC tradition! If needed, find your mapping directions on our Calendar of Events page.
WV Wildflower Pilgrimage 2019:
The 58th WV Wildflower Pilgrimage will be May 9th-12th.

The BBC Annual Foray 2019:
The 2019 BBC Foray will be from June 7th ~ 15th. The Foray will be held this year in Randolph County WV. Not sure what the BBC Foray is all about? Learn about the BBC Foray here.

Mountain Nature Camp (MNC):
Mountain Nature Camp will be held June 16th - 22nd.
Located in Terra Alta West Virginia in Preston County, MNC is Oglebay Institutes nature camp for adults.
MNC will be celebrating its 90th anniversary this year!
There will be a special celebration on Saturday June 22nd!
Bird Banding at Dolly Sods:
Bird banding at the Allegheny Front Migratory Observatory (AFMO) will begin around the third week in August and run to the first week of October. The AFMO banding station is located in the Monongahela National Forest in Grant County WV.

The Big Sit:
The second weekend of October is when many bird organizations will be conducting their "BIG SITS". Sit down and bird!

The BBC Fall Retreat will be October 18th - 20th. We will be staying at the beautiful Blackwater Falls Lodge! Learn about the weekends speakers on our BBC Fall Retreat Page!
Eastern Shore Trip 2019:

120th National Audubon Society (NAS)
Christmas Bird Count:
The 120th NAS Christmas Bird Count (CBC) season will be between December 14th, 2019 and January 5th, 2020.
There are thousands of CBC's conducted all over the Western Hemisphere. Locally here in WV we have twenty counts located in various counties throughout the state, all of these counts could use our help this season.

The NAS CBC is the longest running bird census on the planet!
