BBC Wildlife Sanctuary Program                                                        Sanctuary Application

The Brooks Bird Club "Wildlife Sanctuary Program" has been in place since the early 1970's. The basic concept is that an attractive, painted metal sign declaring the posted area to be a wildlife sanctuary is more effective than a regular “No Trespassing” sign. The latter is so common that many people simply ignore the sign and hunt or trespass on the posted property.  Learn more.

I hereby apply to have the described property registered as a WILDLIFE SANCTUARY with the BROOKS BIRD CLUB, INC., and agree to maintain conservation practices designed to protect the wild plant and animal life which it contains. To be effective, posting signs should be placed at intervals of at least every 300 feet along the borders of the property, at all corners and at road or trail entrances.
The signs are 9"x 12" with black print on yellow baked enamel, made of 30 gauge cold rolled prime steel with two pre-punched holes. We feel these signs are necessary to properly inform the public your property is a wildlife sanctuary.
I DECLARE MY INTENTIONS OF DOING MY BEST TO SEE THAT THE PROPERTY IS TREATED AS A WILDLIFE SANCTUARY AS LONG AS THE BBC SIGNS ARE USED TO POST IT.

I understand and agree that the use of these signs does not give the Brooks Bird Club, Inc. any rights what so ever over the lands on which the signs are erected, nor does it in any way place any liability upon the Club with respect to the use of such lands.
