Our friend, long time member of the Brooks Bird Club, and BBC Administrator Carl Slater passed away on December 5th. 2019
Carl had been a member of the BBC for over 60 years! He will be remembered and missed by all who knew him.

Ralph K. Bell Bench Dedication: On May 19th there was be a Special Dedication to former BBC member Ralph K. Bell.
Former Brooks Bird Club President Stuart Robbins passed away on March 31st 2018. As most BBC members know, Stu was the son of Chandler S. Robbins. Cards and letters can be sent to Jane Robbins at [email protected]
Golden-winged Warblers: Birders are needed for the ongoing monitoring of the Golden-winged Warbler breeding populations in WV. "In the past, we have been conducting 10-minute point counts in various areas across the species historical range in WV, and I'm wondering if anyone might be interested in visiting some of these points this year before the end of June. These points, totaling 120, are located in the Allegheny and Cumberland mountains regions in southern, central, and northern WV".

Junior Nature Camp (ages 10-15) July 15th-28th. Located in Wheeling WV
Mountain Nature Camp (for adults of all ages) June 10th - 16th. Located in Terra Alta WV MNC is complete for the season.

Chan contributed greatly to the field of ornithology. Even after retiring from the USGS, he continued to be actively involved in avian conservation his entire life. Chan will not only be missed by all the BBC members that knew him but by countless people from all over the world who knew of his work, accomplishments and him personally. We will miss you Chan... Memorial Service was held June 23rd 2017 at the National Wildlife Visitor Center at the Patuxent Research Center.
