| Territory: | All of Tucker County, including Canaan Valley and Dolly Sods | ||
| Elevation: | 1000 feet at camp to over 4000 feet on Dolly Sods | ||
| Habitat: | Second and Third growth forests as well as bogs and open meadows | ||
| Program Emphasis: | The program will emphasize birds. You will have opportunities to join in the Breeding Surveys, Bird Population Studies and Early Morning Bird Walks. There will be field work in Flowering Plants, Mammals, Herptiles and Amphibians. | ||
| Instructors: | Instructors at Foray are all experienced field biologists, some professional, others amateurs, but all specialists in their field of nature. Their informal leadership and enthusiasm to help people should make Foray both enjoyable and educational. | ||
| Daily Activities: | Program of lectures & field trips for campers who wish to participate. | ||
| Rules: | Rules governing Foray are few. We expect you to contribute your share toward making Foray a success. While the club cannot be held responsible for any individual, all precautions will be taken to safeguard each participant and all attendees will be covered by accident insurance. | ||
| Cost: | Includes lodging, meals, morning snack, fees and insurance. See Application for cost breakdown. | ||
| Accommodations: | Accommodations are comfortable and include a large dining hall and meeting room with adequate space for library and lab. Campers will be housed in dormitories for the men and four or five to a room facilities for the women. Plenty of hot and cold running water in the showers and indoor flush toilets make this a comfortable camp. | ||
| Camping: | There’s plenty of room for tent camping if desired and electric and water hook-ups for RV’s or camping trailers. | ||
| Meals: | Meals will be good and furnished by our camp cooks. There will be early morning snacks for the early birds to hold them over until breakfast. There will be three all day excursions for which bag lunches will be supplied. | ||
| Silent Auction: | Held during Foray to raise money for the scholarship fund. Donated items are needed and much appreciated. The donor may put a minimum bid on donations, if desired. | ||

| Things to Bring: | Towels, soap, bedding, pillow, rain gear, walking shoes, boots, camera, binoculars, hangers, flashlight, rug, & notebook. Books on natural history to loan to the library (Be sure your name is in them). And, don't forget a drinking MUG! Most interesting wins prizes. | ||
| Transportation: | Transportation to and from camp will be up to each person. Camp is located just off State Route 72, approximately four miles north of Parsons or ten miles south of Rowlesburg. Watch for BBC signs. | ||
