around 2 hrs. 41 min. from Wheeling.
Take I-76 (PA
Turnpike) to Exit 10 Sumerset.
From Somerset follow
the signs for PA-281 North, thru Friedens to its
intersection with US-30.
Go east on US
30 to its intersection with PA-160 North.
Go north on PA-160 to Central City.
In Central City, you will come to a point were PA-160 makes a
sharp left turn, don't follow 160 at this turn.
Go straight
here.This is Lambert Street; go
straight 0.5 miles to intersection with Shaffer Mt. Rd (straight
ahead).
Go straight on Shaffer Mt. Rd (SR-1018)
for 0.9 miles, at Y bear right on Lambert
Mt. Rd. (SR-1035), go 2.8 miles thru State
Game Lands 228 to where Lambert Mt Rd ends, turns sharp left
and becomes Fliegle Rd.
Go straight instead of turning left, go straight past
the little cemetery on your right for 0.5 miles.
Turn in right at the blue gate and go 0.2 miles to the parking
lot for the Hawk Watch.
Follow the signs to the
Hawk Watch area. Do not go into the house on the left, go to the
rough parking lot and follow the signs.
